I am very much delighted to learn that the College of Fisheries, a constituent college of the university is celebrating its upcoming golden jubilee year with the organization of the 1st ever Global and Regional Alutimi Meet (GRAM)-2022 at its campus during 26-27 March, 2022. I am happy that the college is in forefront among the constituent colleges in terms of academics and research. The wonderful journey of the college since its inception in the year 1998 has been remarkable and exceptional. Its claim for being the best fisheries college in the country is evidenced by its impressive performances at national level. The changing face of the college and its recognition in research terms is backed by exemplary research ecosystem and inflow of students across the country for pursuing higher studies at this college. At this juncture, the establishment of its alumni across the globe signifies its quality and interest to take the college name and fame across the oceans. The human manpower in different capacities working in organizations of public and private sectors has harnessed the fisheries development of the country.
I am proud to proclaim that as many as 43 alumni of the college is serving the Indian Council of Agricultural Research in the capacity of Agricultural Research Scientist (ARS), in addition to more than 15 faculty working in different agricultural universities. I hope the senior alumni members who will be joining this event will interact with the present lots to establish a good linkage and inculcate suggestions for higher studies and career shaping reforms. In this midst, structuring a compact information of the alumni can harness better connection and networking among the alumni. I applaud the sincere efforts of the NAHEP and the college for bringing out this Directory of Alumni-COFCAU. I thank the editorial team members of this directory for all the ground work for successfully updating and compiling the publication.
